Do's & Don'ts
Please read the following to help you from experiencing some of the common problems on the narrowboats.

- Do NOT use hairdryers on the boats, as the invertors cannot cope with the power surges.
- When NOT cruising turn the fridge down to number 2, to save the battery from going flat.
- You MUST only use 2ply toilet tissue; any thicker paper will block the toilet. "If you can see through it you can use it!"
- You MUST always close gates and paddles when finished using locks, this is common courtesy and rules of the waterways.
- You MUST have the engine running for at least 5 hours a day, so thge battery will have time to re-charge itself.
- You MUST only have showers when the engine is running, so that the batteries are not drained.
- You MUST use the shower pump when showering to avoid over flowing.
